A survey of 1,000 pet owners with insurance by MarketWatch Guides found that 38% had gone into debt to cover their pets’ medical expenses. Nevertheless, 81% believed pet insurance was valuable. The survey revealed that routine Veterinary care, such as wellness exams and vaccinations, was the most significant pet-related expense, with costs often falling between $200 and $499 per year.

The average monthly pet insurance premium ranged from $41 to $50. The most popular pet insurance providers among respondents were Healthy Paws, Pets Best, and ASPCA. Coverage and customer reviews were the top considerations for pet owners when choosing an insurance provider.
