Marcie, a young pronghorn antelope, was found alone and unable to keep up with her herd at Washington State University (WSU). After being rescued by a dog and its owners, who initially tried to reunite her with her family, Marcie was brought to WSU. Given her young age and the stress of reentry into the wild, veterinarians decided that relocation was necessary.
Instead of flying, which would have been stressful, WSU vet Marcie Logsdon drove her to the Minnesota Zoo with a friend. The zoo, appreciating the efforts to find her a good home, named the antelope after Logsdon. Marcie has settled into her new environment at the zoo, where she is reportedly thriving.
