The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) has appointed Dr. Amanda Price as the state veterinarian. Dr. Price, who holds a BS, MS, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, brings extensive experience in food animal Veterinary medicine. She spent 13 years at Lander Veterinary Clinic, the largest food animal clinic in the U.S., and has served as Utah’s assistant state veterinarian for the past five years.

UDAF Commissioner Craig Buttars praised Dr. Price’s contributions and expressed confidence in her leadership. Her priorities will include disease outbreak preparedness and response, outreach and education, and improving paperwork and registration processes. Dr. Price emphasized the importance of building trust with Utah’s farmers and ranchers to better serve the agriculture and food industries. UDAF, one of Utah’s oldest agencies, oversees programs aimed at promoting agricultural growth, conserving natural resources, and protecting the state’s food supply.
