Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) has partnered with VetRec, an AI-powered software for generating clinical notes, to enhance efficiency in Veterinary care. Through this collaboration, Cornell CVM gains unlimited access to VetRec’s platform, which automates the creation of SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and referral letters, and can summarize extensive patient histories in seconds. VetRec’s HIPAA-compliant technology aims to reduce documentation time, allowing veterinarians to focus more on patient interaction.
VetRec cofounder Kevin Cohen expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to elevate veterinary care, while Meg Thompson, director at Cornell’s Hospital for Animals, highlighted the educational benefits for students and house officers. Cornell’s Dr. Sarah Hummel noted that VetRec has already improved record-keeping efficiency and client interactions. Founded in 2023 by Cohen and David De Matheu, VetRec has been recognized by Y Combinator for its innovative approach in the Veterinary field, placing it among the top 1% of tech startups.
