Amy Branner’s 3-year-old Border Terrier, Oscar, struggles with social interactions at dog parks, becoming unpredictable near other dogs. To address this, Branner uses Sniffspot, an app connecting pet owners with homeowners willing to rent their private yards. For around $20 an hour, Oscar can enjoy a private backyard, complete with an obstacle course and pool, offering a safe space to play and exercise.

Sniffspot, founded by David Adams, addresses issues faced by dogs unable to visit public parks, such as obesity and anxiety, by providing them with private spaces to be active. The app has 20,000 listings nationwide and 100,000 users. Host Shannon Radke, who sees four to five bookings weekly, finds joy in the dogs’ happiness. For Branner, the service brings the satisfaction of seeing Oscar relaxed and happy.
