The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), in collaboration with Chewy Health and MentorVet, launched MentorVet Lead, a program designed to support ACVIM diplomates who received their certification within the last 5 years. Sponsored by Chewy Health, the program offers scholarships, peer support, coaching, and mentorship. Aimed at advancing Veterinary specialty medicine, the 6-month program includes online modules on stress management, leadership, and mentorship, along with monthly virtual meetings for participants to share experiences.
In addition, participants receive individualized mental health and financial coaching, as well as mentorship from established ACVIM diplomates. Mita Malhotra, President of Chewy Health, expressed enthusiasm for supporting ACVIM specialists’ unique mentorship and well-being needs. The program addresses the specific needs of mid-career veterinarians and began its pilot phase on March 25, 2024, ending on September 15, 2024.
