Petco and Nationwide have partnered to offer customizable pet health insurance plans, aiming to make vet care more accessible. Plans cover various pets like dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, birds, and reptiles, with options starting at $16 a month for dogs and $9 for cats. Customization features include reimbursement percentages, coverage for illnesses, wellness benefits, deductibles ranging from $100 to $500, and coverage limits from $500 to unlimited.
Policyholders receive discounts on Petco Veterinary services at over 280 locations. The collaboration began in October 2022, aiming to enhance end-to-end pet care, including pharmacy services and wellness programs like Petco’s Vital Care. Mariel Devesa, Nationwide’s head of growth, sees this partnership as a way to offer integrated and affordable pet protection.
