Purina has announced a $4.5 million donation to three leading U.S. Veterinary schools to advance pet health and Veterinary education over the next five years. This initiative, launched on International Day of Veterinary Medicine, aims to drive research and innovation in pet health, focusing on areas like canine aging and mobility, as well as gastrointestinal health in cats and dogs.

The beneficiaries include Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, which received $1.5 million for its CHAMP program to explore nutrition, healthy aging, and mobility in dogs. The University of California, Davis, received $1.5 million to establish a program advancing gastrointestinal health solutions for pets. Colorado State University was awarded $1.5 million for the Purina Young Investigators Award Program, funding up to 12 annual grants for students and faculty to facilitate scientific advancements. These efforts align with Purina’s mission to enhance pet well-being and strengthen Veterinary education and research.
