VET101, a National Western Stock Show program in Denver, is offering 40 high school students hands-on experience in Veterinary medicine. The program, now in its 6th year, exposes students to various aspects of the Veterinary field, including small animals, large animals, equine and rodeo, and embryology. Participants rotate through four vet stations, gaining insight into the diverse fields within Veterinary medicine.

The initiative aims to help students considering a career in Veterinary medicine understand the profession’s different facets and encourage their pursuit of relevant educational opportunities. Jennifer Hartman, a volunteer vet, emphasizes the program’s role in aiding students’ decisions about applications and scholarships for future education in the field.
