Purdue University hosted its inaugural One Health Alumni Reunion on November 14–16, bringing together over 150 medical professionals, faculty, staff, and students. The event highlighted interdisciplinary collaboration in human, animal, plant, and environmental health, aligning with Purdue’s One Health initiative. Activities included networking sessions, presentations, and discussions featuring Purdue President Mung Chiang and First Lady Kei Hui.
Key sessions included a presentation on antimicrobial resistance by Dr. Sanjeev Narayanan and Dr. Kenitra Hendrix, focusing on multidrug-resistant bacteria at the human-animal interface. Other notable attendees included Purdue Veterinary Medicine alumni and faculty, such as Dr. Gordon Coppoc and faculty members Mindy Anderson and Dianne Little. The event also featured a fireside chat with Purdue President Chiang and Elanco CEO Jeff Simmons and a student networking session for professional development. The reunion builds on the Purdue Alumni Medical Network, established to foster connections among alumni in healthcare fields.
