Dr. Andy Cole, an alum of West Texas A&M University, has donated $125,000 to establish the Cole Professorship in Animal Science at the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences. Dr. Cole financed his education by using the proceeds from crops on his family farm, and now, generations later, he is giving back to his alma mater. Over the years, he has also created the Cole Agriculture Scholarship and made a planned gift of nearly $300,000 to convert the professorship into a distinguished professorship upon his passing.

This philanthropic effort aims to support students and faculty in animal science and nutrition, reflecting Dr. Cole’s successful career as a nutritionist and lab director at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Research Lab. His contributions align with West Texas A&M University’s goal of meeting regional needs and contribute to the ongoing One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which seeks to reach $175 million by 2025.
