Best Buy Bones, Inc. of Mount Morris, Michigan, has recalled four lots of Nature’s Own Pet Chews Bully Bites 1-Pound treats (UPC 739598900750, lots 19379–19382, Best By September 2027) due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected 16 oz. bags were distributed from Minnesota and sold in Wisconsin after September 23, 2025. While no illnesses have been reported, both humans and pets are at risk.
Salmonella infection in people can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and, in rare cases, more severe complications. In pets, symptoms include lethargy, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, and vomiting. The FDA detected the contamination during routine testing on September 11, 2025. Production and distribution have stopped while the investigation continues. Consumers should not feed or donate the product, destroy it safely, and wash any containers, surfaces, or hands that came into contact with it.
