Go Raw, a Utah-based pet food company, has voluntarily recalled a single lot of its Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets after at least one customer reported a related illness in their cat. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, product testing revealed low levels of thiamine (vitamin B1), an essential nutrient for cats. Thiamine deficiency can cause decreased appetite, vomiting, weight loss and, in advanced cases, neurological symptoms such as vision problems, unsteady walking, seizures and neck weakness.
The recalled 10-ounce bags are beige with purple stripes and marked with lot code “C25288,” UPC “6-91730-18103-1,” and a Best Buy date of Oct. 15, 2027. The product was distributed in 10 states, including Oregon, Washington, California and Texas. Consumers should stop feeding the food immediately and return it for a refund. Pet owners are advised to consult a veterinarian if symptoms appear.
