A new national Women in Agriculture Study has been launched to gather insights from women across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, aiming to better understand their experiences, leadership paths, and needs within the agricultural sector. Open through March 31, the survey invites participation from women in farming, agribusiness, education, and advocacy, as well as others connected to agriculture, forestry, and related industries.
Sponsored by the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee and funded by CoBank and JBS, the study seeks to identify successes, challenges, and gaps in support for women in agriculture. Optional interviews and focus groups will explore leadership, mentorship, and barriers to advancement. AFBF President Zippy Duvall emphasized the importance of removing barriers for the more than one million women who comprise 36% of U.S. farmers. Findings will be presented at the International Year of the Woman Farmer ACE Summit in Washington, D.C., in June 2026, guiding future leadership and outreach initiatives.
