Despite strong emotional bonds—many calling themselves “Moms,” “Dads,” or “Caregivers”—cat owners are notably less prepared for Veterinary costs. This financial gap persists even as the lifetime cost of cat ownership has soared to over $47,000, far above most owners’ expectations. The findings highlight a need for greater awareness of the true costs of pet care and the benefits of insurance.
