The Purina Foundation awarded $1.165 million in grants to 27 nonprofit organizations across the United States in 2025, continuing its long-standing mission to support pets, people and communities. Founded in 1951 by William H. Danforth, the foundation prioritizes strengthening the human–animal bond in the 25 U.S. cities where Nestlé Purina PetCare operates. In 2025, major funding focused on animal welfare initiatives, including Veterinary clinics, pet-friendly shelters, service dog programs for veterans, and improved access to pet care.
The foundation also invested in education and workforce development through grants supporting 4-H programs, agricultural education, youth centers, and scholarships for military and first responder families. Community-focused grants enhanced public safety, accessibility, and community infrastructure, while disaster relief funding aided recovery from wildfires, floods, and tornadoes. Overall, the grants reflect Purina’s commitment to animal welfare, education, community resilience, and disaster response nationwide.
