The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Inspector General (SBA OIG) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General (USDA OIG) have signed a data sharing agreement aimed at strengthening fraud detection and enforcement coordination across federal programs. Announced by Inspectors General William Kirk and John Walk, the agreement is designed to improve information flow, accelerate the identification of fraud indicators, and support investigations and prosecutions through timely access to shared data and analytics.
The agreement follows a meeting in Los Angeles with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California focused on enhancing interagency collaboration to better protect taxpayer dollars. Both officials emphasized the need for faster, data-driven oversight as fraud schemes become more sophisticated. The partnership will enable both agencies to leverage technology, analytics, and coordinated investigative efforts to identify risks earlier, target resources more effectively, address operational weaknesses, and hold bad actors accountable while safeguarding the integrity of federal programs.
