The Frosted Faces Foundation, a Ramona-based nonprofit dedicated to senior pet rescue and care, has opened its new Community Veterinary Center to expand specialized services for aging dogs and cats. Founded in 2014 by Kelly and Andrew Smíšek, the organization has rescued nearly 4,000 senior animals and provided over $10 million in Veterinary services. The new standalone clinic, located next to its rescue facility, aims to reduce financial barriers that often discourage families from adopting senior pets, ensuring they receive the medical care they deserve.
In 2024 alone, Frosted Faces provided nearly 6,000 exams, over 400 surgeries, and hundreds of diagnostics, demonstrating its impact. The foundation also runs innovative programs such as Seniors for Seniors, Safety Net Boarding, Frosted Funding, and Final Wish, all designed to keep pets with their families and out of shelters. The Community Veterinary Center marks a significant step toward sustainability, advancing Frosted Faces’ mission of keeping senior pets healthy, loved, and in permanent homes.
