The U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued a food safety advisory on January 27, 2026, warning consumers about eight lots of Raaw Energy dog food that tested positive for harmful pathogens. The affected products contained bacteria including Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, Campylobacter jejuni, and E. coli, which can pose serious health risks to pets and humans. The contaminated items include multiple varieties of Raaw Energy’s Chicken Medley, Salmon, Beef Chicken Medley, Beef Turkey Medley, and Beef Chicken Tripe Medley, sold in frozen plastic tubes with various 2025 manufacturing dates.
Testing was conducted after a consumer complaint about a dog illness, with the Connecticut and New Jersey Departments of Agriculture confirming contamination in all eight unopened samples. Although the FDA has recommended a recall, Raaw Energy had not initiated an adequate recall as of January 23. The products are sold frozen, ordered online, and picked up in person.
