In honor of International Cat Day, CATalyst Council announced a landmark nationwide survey of 40,000 U.S. households to address the “feline care gap” and reshape cat-focused veterinary care. Conducted with industry partners and research firms Forward Group and Kynetec, the study will explore emotional, behavioral, and psychological factors influencing Veterinary decisions, aiming to replace assumptions with evidence. It will also collect detailed demographic and behavioral data on both cats and dogs, helping predict future visit trends.
Building on CATalyst’s quarterly Feline Market Insights Reports, the survey seeks to identify barriers to care, motivators for increased feline medicalization, and strategies for innovation across Veterinary practices, animal health companies, and pet care brands. Findings will benefit cat owners, veterinary teams, companies, and investors by guiding communication, adherence, product development, and market strategy. Initial results are expected in Q4 2025, with insights aimed at driving measurable improvements in feline health outcomes and strengthening the human-feline bond.
