BinSentry, an Ontario-based agtech firm, has raised $50 million in a Series C round led by Lead Edge Capital to advance its mission to digitize the animal feed supply chain and expand into Brazil. Since its founding in 2017, BinSentry has developed an integrated hardware-and-software solution that uses IoT cameras mounted atop feed bins to map interior levels and transmit data via cellular networks to a centralized platform.
The cloud-based system leverages AI to forecast future feed demand at animal sites using trailing 72-hour real-time consumption data. According to CEO Ben Allen, the animal feed industry is one of the largest—and most challenging—supply chains, with traditional methods relying on often inaccurate human estimates. This funding will support BinSentry’s continued growth and expansion into new markets such as Brazil.
