The first class of Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine students completed their clinical rotations at Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare (AAMW). This partnership allowed students to gain hands-on experience in shelter medicine, including surgical practice, adoptions, outreach, and animal control.

The program aims to prepare students for their Veterinary careers and benefit the community by reducing overcrowding and disease spread through community engagement. The initiative has been positively received, highlighting the importance of practical experience in Veterinary education.
