Rhiannon P. Holeva, 23, of Oakdale, Pennsylvania, has been accused of deleting over $10,000 worth of Veterinary treatment records while working as a receptionist at VCA Wexford Animal Hospital. According to court documents, Holeva allegedly used her employee access to erase 317 records linked to her 11 pets and her father’s three pets, effectively removing charges for their medical care. Surveillance footage reportedly shows her entering the facility after hours and placing medications into unmarked bottles, further implicating her in unauthorized activity.
Authorities charged Holeva with theft of services, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and tampering with records. Police said the deletions represented a significant loss to the animal hospital. Holeva is scheduled to appear in court in November. The case underscores concerns about internal access misuse and emphasizes the importance of secure recordkeeping in Veterinary practices.
