The vendor hall was a hub of excitement, featuring state-of-the-art technology, new product launches, and interactive demonstrations from top companies in the field.

Liver health is evaluated by monitoring ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase), a key liver enzyme, and inflammation is detected through CRP (C-Reactive Protein) levels, indicating inflammation in your pet’s body and helping to identify infections and chronic diseases early. Additionally, the Kora Strip monitors other vital health markers such as Heart Health (assessed by measuring ProBNP (B-type Natriuretic Peptide), a marker for cardiac issues). Diabetes (managed by monitoring glucose levels, essential for metabolic health), and stress (indicated by cortisol levels, reflecting stress and adrenal health). By analyzing these biomarkers, the Kora Strip provides real-time, actionable health insights, enabling early detection and proactive care for your dog.

Vendors were thrilled with the attendees’ energy and enthusiasm. Booths saw a lot of traffic, and many veterinary professionals were interested in cutting-edge solutions. One must admit the vendors had great fun presenting their products and services to VMX attendees. If you missed the fun at the CASCO booth, click this link: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1870497010389052 to watch Dr. Christman and Walter Brown showcase innovative kennel solutions.
In addition to the booths, the sessions were well attended. From cutting-edge clinical techniques to innovative practice management strategies, every session was buzzing with insightful discussions and expert-led presentations. Attendance was amazing in my talk, The Cutting Edge – What is Coming On the Technology Horizon. There was strong interest in my prediction that we will have a platform solution to help reduce the faxed prescriptions from outside pharmacies, in addition to conversations about the growing data around spay/neuter syndrome and the need to delay sterilization until sexual maturity. After reviewing the UC Davis data and the WSAVA guidelines, I see more to come on this topic. The need for a test to determine sexual maturity to time a sterilization is needed. Another BLT team member, Beth Ann Harvey, co-presented with Louise S. Dunn and Trisha Jones, BS, CVPM, in the CSR and Practice Management tracks.
The high attendance reflects the veterinary community’s dedication to continuous learning and staying ahead in an ever-evolving field.
Finally, what would VMX be without special dinners, awards, and competitions? At the Fear Free Industry Dinner during VMX, a group of dedicated industry professionals gathered to reflect on the progress of Fear Free’s mission and discuss the future of pet care free from fear, anxiety, and stress. The dinner brought together individuals who share a common commitment to enhancing the emotional well-being of pets across various settings, from general veterinary practice to emergency and urgent care, grooming, training, boarding, and daycare. Those in attendance heard from the team about the strides made in changing the standards of care and looked ahead to 2025 and beyond, focusing on how to continue advancing Fear Free principles. With an emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and compassion, the evening provided a platform for shaping the next chapter in Fear Free’s mission to make all aspects of pet care less stressful and more compassionate.
And the winner is… I would like to send out a huge congratulations to Brandy Kuentzel on winning the VMX 2025 Pitch Competition with @easepetvet Portal! Now is the time to put the knowledge, skills, and insights gained from the incredible sessions and innovative vendor hall into practice. Whether it’s implementing new techniques, introducing cutting-edge technology, or refining patient care, the impact of this experience will extend far beyond the conference.
