The Animal Health, Nutrition & Technology Innovation USA 2025 (AHNTI USA 2025) was the perfect conference to meet with tech startups and innovators.
The conference highlighted several emerging trends shaping the future of the Animal Health industry, including digital transformation, innovations in disease prevention, sustainability, and one-health strategies, as well as investment and industry growth. Let’s dig into some of the highlights!
Technological innovators are working to meet the needs of today’s companion and farm animal industries. A panel discussion, “From Code to Care: How Will Tech Transform Animal Health,” with Cal Lai (CEO at Ask.Vet), Sam Razor (Executive Chairman at Parasight), Neal Fishman (CTO at Data-Based Pathology at IBM), and Patricia Porter (CEO at VEA – Veterinarian Exam Assistant) highlighted technology’s role as an enabler, not a replacement, and the critical need for solutions to be practical, accessible, and aligned with the realities of veterinary practice operations.
AHNTI is THE conference to hear first-hand about new entrants in the animal health industry. One new entrant, Vetway, is a first-in-the-industry prescription approval and e-prescribing platform that connects all pet pharmacies to a single portal, reducing the need to log in to multiple platforms and improving workflow by eliminating the need for faxes and pharmacy calls. The parent company is DAW Systems. DAW Systems has been developing and selling prescription software since 1991. Their flagship product, ScriptSure, is a Gold Certified Solution Provider and White Coat of Quality recipient, signaling DAW’s commitment to the highest standards of prescription quality.
Candise Goodwin, Founder of Outlier Advisors, led a panel discussion on the developments that are changing the pet retailer and pharmacy landscape. NxVet is leveraging AI to streamline medical record-keeping with its bioelectronic stethoscope attachment device (NxSCOPE), which works with all scribe platforms to record temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate, as well as record and transcribe clinical conversations. [insert picture 3 Nxscope]
Manufacturers are working to respond to the accelerated growth of innovations in the animal health industry. Gerardo Bluske (CEO and Co-Founder of ByBug), Angelo Gatto (CEO at Chanelle Pharma), and Manoj Babu (VP of Business Development at Syngene) participated in the “Moving the Needle in Manufacturing” panel discussion, which explored the challenges and opportunities in scaling production to meet growing demands. Changes are expected to foster new models that address the needs of smaller, more complex startups, uncommon technologies, regulatory pathways, and novel manufacturing processes.
Innovators are answering the call for ways to improve the lives of pets. The 2025 Innovation Showcase provided an opportunity to witness exciting innovations and meet innovative industry leaders. The startup pitch Judges’ Winner was AnimalBiome (microbial biomarkers for personalized medicine that addresses chronic digestive and skin issues), and the Audience Choice Award winner was LEAH Laboratories (gene editing to create living cell therapies for pets with cancer). Other companion animal finalists to keep your eye on are Blovo, Epivara, FidoCure, ImpriMed, and Treat.
The new “Acceleration Zone” [insert picture 4 acceleration] provided over four hours of tech-focused discussions and demonstrations of disruptive new technologies in animal health. The unique format allows the audience to listen via headphones, which block out background noise in the busy exhibit hall.
As AHNTI USA 2025 made clear, the animal health industry is at a pivotal moment—where innovation is not just welcomed, but required. From AI-powered diagnostics and unified e-prescribing platforms to next-gen manufacturing models and gene-edited therapies, the pace of change is accelerating across every corner of the field. What sets AHNTI apart is its ability to convene the visionaries—startups, technologists, veterinarians, investors, and strategists—who are not only forecasting the future, but actively building it. As we look ahead, one thing is certain: the future of animal health is being shaped now, and it’s being shaped by the people and ideas spotlighted at AHNTI.
