Rowan University’s Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, New Jersey’s first Veterinary school, is enrolling students for its inaugural class in 2025 after receiving preliminary accreditation assurance from the AVMA Council on Education. This achievement follows years of development and a successful site visit in April 2023. Founded by Dr. Matthew Edson, the school’s program emphasizes “Day-One ready” training, with hands-on experiences in a new $176.4 million facility featuring clinical and diagnostic labs, a teaching hospital, and community-oriented services.
With support from a $30 million donation by Gerald B. Shreiber, the school aims to meet critical veterinary care needs, particularly in South Jersey, where emergency and specialty care access is limited. Tuition for New Jersey residents is $37,500, and $58,500 for out-of-state students. The program also promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, with Rowan offering MD, DO, and DVM degrees—one of only two U.S. universities to do so.
