Lyon College, in partnership with Arkansas State University, is set to open a new College of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas. This initiative is part of a $48 million capital project approved by the ASU Board of Trustees. The new campus will integrate Cabot animal support services with the Veterinary school, fostering collaboration and providing enhanced resources for veterinary education and animal care.
Lyon College President Melissa Taverner highlighted the collaborative approach to developing the campus, emphasizing its potential to support both students and the community. The school plans to admit its first class of Veterinary students by 2026, marking a significant milestone in expanding Veterinary education opportunities in the region. The establishment of this new Veterinary college reflects a commitment to addressing the growing demand for Veterinary professionals and providing state-of-the-art facilities for education and animal services.
