A survey by Embrace Pet Insurance found that most policyholders believed insurance improved their pets’ health and eased financial burdens. The survey, which included over 12,000 respondents, revealed that 67% had faced high Veterinary bills that would have been a financial strain without insurance, and 91% felt they could provide better care, potentially extending their pets’ lives, due to insurance. In addition, 66% said insurance influenced their decisions on treatments.

The survey also noted that 46% used pet technology like smart feeders and activity trackers, 46% prepared or bought human-grade meals or treats for their pets, and 55% included their pets in their workout routines. Furthermore, 67% prioritized their pets’ health and nutrition over their own, and 45% used their pets as excuses to leave work calls or meetings. The findings also highlighted that 85% identified as pet parents, and some pets reacted to music (35%) or had favorite TV shows (26%). CEO Brian Macias emphasized that pet insurance is essential for managing rising vet costs and ensuring optimal pet care.
