Jarrick Bernard-Converse, a New York Jets cornerback, has long harbored a passion for animals, aspiring to become a veterinarian alongside his football career. Growing up in Shreveport, Louisiana, he frequently cared for sick pets and pursued a degree in pre-Veterinary animal science at Oklahoma State University, choosing the school specifically for its Veterinary program. While excelling as a four-year starter on the football team, he balanced the challenging academic path.

After graduating in 2021, he transferred to LSU to play another season, later being drafted by the Jets in 2023. Despite a foot injury sidelining him early in his NFL career, Bernard-Converse transitioned from safety to cornerback, earning praise for his adaptability and performance in training camp. He remains committed to his Veterinary aspirations, planning to attend Veterinary school after his football career, with a particular interest in working with large farm animals like horses and cows.
