Fetch Emergency and Specialty Centers in Brandon, Florida, has introduced Sketch for Fetch, a heartwarming program that combines art and animal care to brighten the lives of hospitalized pets. Led by veterinarian Jocelyn Hogan, the initiative encourages children in the Tampa Bay area to send drawings and cards to decorate the kennels of dogs and cats staying at the clinic. The artwork brings comfort to the animals and adds a personal touch to their care.
Since its launch, the program has received over 200 pieces of art, which also serve as keepsakes for pet owners when their pets are discharged. Some children have even delivered their creations in person, fostering a deeper community connection. Hogan hopes the program inspires future veterinarians and underscores the importance of Veterinary care. Artwork can be mailed to the clinic, ensuring pets in need continue to receive love and cheer during their recovery.
