Mars Petcare US has issued a voluntary recall for 315 bags of Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food due to potential contamination with loose metal fragments. The recall, announced on May 17, 2024, affects only 44 lb bags sold at Walmart locations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The impacted products have a “best by” date of March 4, 2025, and lot code 410B2TXT02, located on the bag’s bottom back.
While no injuries or illnesses have been reported, pet owners are advised to stop using the product and monitor pets for signs of metal ingestion, such as vomiting, lethargy, or abdominal discomfort. If symptoms occur, contact a veterinarian immediately. Mars Petcare is collaborating with Walmart to remove affected products from shelves.
