The Pet Advocacy Network (PAN) is launching a new grassroots initiative called The Network of Advocates, aimed at empowering professionals within the pet industry to engage in policy advocacy. Set to go live this month, the free platform will offer resources for learning about legislative issues, developing advocacy skills, connecting with lawmakers, sharing testimonials, and building community.
Members will receive an advocacy toolkit, expert updates from PAN, and a social media badge to promote their involvement. PAN CEO Mike Bober emphasized the need for the pet care industry—ranging from business owners to veterinarians—to have a stronger voice in policy discussions, which have often been led by activists outside the industry. The network aims to highlight the industry’s role in promoting the human-animal bond.
