The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine has commenced construction on the Gail P. Riepe Center for Advanced Veterinary Education at its New Bolton Center campus. This 11,800-square-foot facility, funded by a $6 million donation from alumni Gail and Jim Riepe, will be the first dedicated classroom building at the large-animal hospital. Designed to enhance Veterinary education, the center will feature high-fidelity simulators, flexible classroom spaces, and meeting areas to support modern teaching methods.
The Riepe Center aims to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, aligning with Penn Vet’s 2022 curriculum that emphasizes clinical skills from the first year. It will also serve as a hub for community engagement, offering educational programs related to animal health and agriculture. The facility is part of a broader plan to advance Veterinary education and services at New Bolton Center, including the development of a new Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and renovation of the Large Animal Hospital.
