Dr. Tiffany Wolf, associate professor at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, exemplifies the One Health approach by linking animal, human, and environmental well-being. A graduate of LSU Vet Med (2002), she began her career studying Minnesota’s declining moose population and now leads collaborative research with Tribal Nations on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). Her work prioritizes tribal perspectives, exploring how CWD affects food security, culture, and ecosystems, while supporting surveillance and disease management.
Wolf emphasizes mutual knowledge exchange, ensuring findings directly inform tribal decision-making. Beyond Minnesota, she investigates emerging infectious diseases in South America, including research in Guyana and Brazil’s Pantanal wetlands. In the classroom, she teaches Veterinary students to view clinical work through an ecological lens, connecting animal health to global sustainability. Inspired by her LSU mentor, Dr. Mark Mitchell, Wolf continues to “play the long game,” advancing research that benefits communities, ecosystems, and future generations.
