Macy’s in Union Square, San Francisco, is hosting its 37th annual Holiday Windows event in collaboration with the San Francisco SPCA to facilitate pet adoptions. Shoppers and passersby can view adoptable puppies and kittens in the store windows, with the goal of helping more than 600 dogs and cats find forever homes this year. All dogs and cats from the SF SPCA are free to adopt, while puppies and kittens up to 5 months old will have a $100 adoption fee.
The Holiday Windows event, running Thursdays through Sundays from November 17 to December 31, has been a successful tradition, finding homes for hundreds of pets annually. In addition, a toy drive will collect toys for shelter pets on December 16.
