Idealyst Innovation has launched the Center for American Food Power (CAFP), a new nonpartisan think tank aimed at strengthening U.S. agriculture by aligning agrifood strategy with national security priorities. The initiative responds to major structural changes in production, trade, labor, technology, and geopolitics that are reshaping the agricultural landscape and challenging traditional models. CAFP’s mission is to develop long-term strategies that enhance resilience, competitiveness, and global influence while preventing fragmentation within the industry.
Founder Brett Sciotto emphasized that agriculture is central to national security and requires more coordinated, forward-looking policy integration. As part of its launch, the center established the American Food Power Council, a leadership group composed of prominent figures from agriculture, policy, and related sectors to guide strategy and collaboration. The center seeks broad engagement across the agrifood system to create cohesive policy frameworks and ensure U.S. agriculture remains a strong, innovative, and strategically aligned global leader.
