Paws Finding Peace, in partnership with the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association Charities, has donated pet oxygen mask kits to the Blandford Fire Department to help first responders provide lifesaving care to animals during emergencies. The donation ensures that every department vehicle is equipped with specialized oxygen masks for pets suffering from smoke inhalation or other respiratory distress. Each kit includes small, medium, and large masks, along with a training DVD and best-practice guidance.
During the July 8 presentation, representatives from Paws Finding Peace met with Fire Chief Adam Dolby and firefighters, who confirmed the masks were compatible with the department’s existing oxygen equipment. The donation is part of the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association Charities’ Pet Oxygen Mask Program, which equips fire departments across the state with animal-specific emergency equipment. Paws Finding Peace, a Chicopee-based provider of pet aftercare services, regularly partners with Veterinary and animal welfare organizations to support companion animal health and community education.
