Rocky Vista University is set to establish a new College of Veterinary Medicine on its Billings campus in Montana, aiming to address the shortage of Veterinary professionals in the region. The three-year intensive program, slated to begin in 2026 if accreditation and construction proceed as planned, seeks to fill the gap in Veterinary care for small and large animals. With a severe shortage of veterinarians in Montana and neighboring areas, the new college aims to alleviate this issue, focusing on both companion and large animal needs.
The program’s accreditation is pending approval from the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Higher Learning Commission. In addition to bolstering Veterinary care, the project is expected to contribute to the local tax base and attract students from across the country, while potentially fostering small businesses and strengthening economic ties with the community.
