SUNY Canton is celebrating nine Veterinary Technology graduates from the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 who were accepted into veterinary colleges for fall 2026. Their achievement comes amid highly competitive admissions, with approximately 15,000 students applying to veterinary schools nationwide each year and only about 3,800 gaining acceptance.
The graduates earned admission to institutions including Cornell University, Louisiana State University, Kansas State University, Tufts University, Ohio State University, Long Island University, Midwestern University, Ross University, and Centro Universitário Internacional in Brazil. Some graduates received acceptances from multiple schools.
Dr. Wendy K. Kuceyeski, director of SUNY Canton’s Veterinary Science Technology program, praised the students for the academic performance and extensive animal and Veterinary experience required to compete for admission.
SUNY Canton is one of only 20 institutions nationwide offering a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. The program also reports a 90% national examination pass rate for its graduates.
