A black bear caused an unusual disruption at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, when it wandered onto the course and stole a golfer’s bag of clubs from a golf cart. The curious bear was captured on video grabbing the bag in its mouth and carrying it away as stunned golfers watched. The animal eventually dropped the clubs after wandering a short distance, allowing them to be recovered with only minor damage.
Golf course staff said bears are frequently spotted on the property due to the surrounding natural habitat, but incidents involving stolen golf equipment are extremely rare. The encounter highlights the importance of giving wildlife plenty of space and avoiding attempts to retrieve belongings until an animal has moved on. While the incident provided an entertaining moment for golfers and social media viewers alike, officials reminded the public that black bears are wild animals and should always be treated with caution and respect.
