A 24-year-old woman from Visalia, Amanahy Becerra, was arrested on April 29 for allegedly performing Veterinary procedures without proper training or licensing. According to the Visalia Police Department, her actions led to the death of at least one dog, while several other animals suffered serious complications requiring emergency care.
Investigators say Becerra documented and shared videos of these procedures on social media, raising further concern. Authorities determined that proper anesthesia was not used, causing animals to endure significant and unnecessary pain. Detectives executed a search warrant at her home and took her into custody without incident. She was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
The case remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. The incident highlights the dangers of unlicensed individuals performing medical procedures on animals and the serious consequences that can result.
