Ohio Governor Mike DeWine celebrated the grand opening of Royal Canin’s new $450 million manufacturing facility in Lewisburg, a major investment that will create up to 270 full-time jobs over the next five years. A division of Mars, Incorporated, Royal Canin produces science-based pet nutrition for cats and dogs. The state-of-the-art facility will be the largest dry pet food factory globally for the brand, capable of feeding 4 million pets annually.
Supported by $3.5 million in JobsOhio grants and a 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit, the facility represents a significant vote of confidence in Ohio’s business environment and workforce. Leaders from JobsOhio and Mars emphasized the importance of the site in advancing domestic manufacturing and supplying North American markets. Mars has a long history in Ohio, dating back to 1943, and Royal Canin has operated in Lewisburg since 1987. The new facility reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and community impact.
