A 66-year-old northern Arizona man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly firing approximately 10 to 12 gunshots at Harmony Veterinary Care in Prescott following the loss of his dog. Police responded to reports of gunfire near the hospital around 11:22 p.m. on September 9.
Employees discovered extensive damage to the building’s front and reception area the following morning. Authorities estimated the damage exceeded $10,000. No one was inside the Veterinary hospital during the shooting, and nearby apartments were not struck.
Prescott police reviewed surveillance footage and used Flock camera technology to identify a truck belonging to Anthony J. Aiello of Kirkland. Investigators learned that Aiello had recently visited the hospital with his dog and became upset while discussing the animal’s condition with employees. He also posted on social media about losing his dog shortly before the shooting.
Police arrested Aiello on September 11. He faces charges including criminal damage, drive-by shooting, and endangerment.
