One month after being found starved, shot twice in the head, and abandoned along an Oklahoma City-area road, a French bulldog named Mango continues making remarkable progress. A witness reportedly saw Mango thrown from a vehicle in August and rescued her from the roadway.
Mango weighed approximately 12 pounds, less than half her expected weight of 26 to 27 pounds. Veterinary examinations revealed bullet damage to her nasal and sinus passages, multiple fractures involving her skull, eye socket, and jaw, road rash, severe malnutrition, and significant muscle loss.
Despite her extensive injuries, Mango stood and walked just two days after her rescue. Caregivers with Angel Fund OKC have gradually increased her nutrition, managed her pain, and helped rebuild her strength and trust.
The organization recently shared photos showing Mango’s progress after one month of recovery. She is expected to require months of continued medical care and rehabilitation. No suspect or arrest has been announced.
