The FDA is investigating a Salmonella Kiambu outbreak across seven states, potentially linked to pet food from Mid America Pet Food. The company expanded its October 30 recall, including additional products with a best-by date before October 31, 2024, from its Mount Pleasant, Texas, facility.

The recall involves Victor Super Premium Dog Foods, Wayne Feeds Dog Food, Eagle Mountain Pet Food, and two types of Member’s Mark pet foods, sold nationwide. Illnesses linked to the pet food occurred from January 14 to August 19, with one hospitalization and no reported deaths. Cases involve exposure to dogs and feeding Victor pet food. Consumers are urged to discard the products and disinfect pet supplies. The FDA continues to investigate in collaboration with the CDC and state partners.
