On May 6, Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions (VPS) celebrated its 30th anniversary and unveiled a major 8,400-square-foot expansion of its St. Peter facility. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the near-doubling of VPS’s building at 2008 Sunrise Drive, adding new compound bays, warehouse space, and R&D facilities to support the company’s growing line of livestock pharmaceuticals. Founded in 1994 by brothers Bill and Pat Soderlund as VetRX, the company evolved from a small-town drugstore operation into a specialized Veterinary compounding business.

The Soderlunds, third-generation pharmacists, originally operated Soderlund Village Drug, but demand for livestock medications led them to shift focus. In 2009, they expanded to their current facility, significantly increasing production capacity. VetRX was rebranded as VPS in 2020 following a majority acquisition by Granite Creek Capital, though the brothers retain partial ownership in semi-retirement. The expansion enables VPS to meet FDA requirements for separate drug development spaces and continue innovating in livestock care.
