VHMA Announces 2026 Practice Manager of the Year: Bianca Alfonso

Bianca Alfonso has been named the 2026 Practice Manager of the Year by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) for her leadership in transforming Green Dog Dental & Veterinary Center from a six person startup into a thriving multi-hospital organization. Beginning as a client service representative with no Veterinary experience, Alfonso advanced to administrative director while helping oversee expansion to four locations and a broad range of specialty services. She cultivated a culture centered on mentorship, cross training, employee development, and internal promotion, helping numerous team members advance into leadership positions.

Her leadership also strengthened collaboration, staff engagement, and organizational growth while supporting high quality patient care. Beyond Green Dog, Alfonso helped establish educational opportunities for Veterinary students through a partnership with Western University of Health Sciences. Alfonso credits VHMA with supporting her professional growth through education, networking, and mentorship. The annual Practice Manager of the Year award recognizes Veterinary leaders who improve operations, workplace culture, patient care, and business performance.
